Summary

Josh The Garage Door Guy partnered with Old Street Creative to build his brand from the ground up — and he came to us with a clear mandate: he didn't want to look like every other garage door company.

With over 20 years of experience in the trade and more than a decade proudly serving the West Kootenays, Josh had built a business worth representing properly. The engagement covered everything — identity development, logo design, and a full website build.

The logo was the foundation. Josh was clear that the mark needed to do real work: anyone encountering it — on a truck, a sign, or a screen — should instantly understand what he does. We set out to create something that felt authentic to Josh's character while visually communicating the craft behind his work.

The solution was an ambigram — a mark that reads identically whether rotated or reflected. The concept felt inherently right for a garage door business, a product defined by its movement. Embedded within the design are the details that most people never think about: door panels, a gearbox, the chain drive quietly doing its job every time someone presses a button. The result is a precisely balanced logo that rewards closer inspection without requiring it.

With the identity established, the website and broader brand followed — cohesive, confident, and built to reflect the standard of work Josh brings to every job.
