Summary

The LushKings are a five-piece band made up of distinct talents — vocals, drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard — who have been creating music together for over 25 years. With multiple albums behind them, Some Assembly Required marks their final release and the closing chapter of a remarkable journey together.

The LushKings partnered with Old Street to design the album cover for this farewell project. Recorded during the pandemic, each member captured their parts independently, with the music later assembled into a cohesive whole — a process that directly inspired the album’s title. The band envisioned artwork that reflected both their individual personalities and the unique “assembled” nature of the recording process.

Old Street created a concept that visually merges these elements, blending individuality with unity. The final design carries even deeper meaning, as the project became especially significant following the passing of one of the band members — transforming the album into not just a final release, but a lasting tribute to their shared legacy.
